About Breuer Kennel

Breuer Kennels is home to athletic mastiffs, which are bred for endurance in both work and play.

Breuer Kennel is located in Northeastern, Pa. and makes puppies available to a good part of the east coast. We welcome visitors and are happy to show how our dogs live.

The mastiffs we breed are a combination of English, Bull, French and Neopolitan mastiff. We also breed ban dogs (a ban dog will have some pit bull, some american bulldog combined with mastiff).

Our dogs have a stable temperament which allows them to be at home in a family environment. They are bred to be both a working dog and a house pet.  However protection is one of their assets. They would make  a companion for someone who likes to exercise. As they are bred for endurance our dogs are big, rugged and sound.

Breuer Kennel dogs are relatively large with males tipping the scales at 110-140 lbs. and the females at 100-120 lbs. Litters have produced various colors which include black, fawn, red, red brindle, black brindle, yellow brindle and orange brindle.

There is no limit to our marketing area. If possible we would deliver the dogs personally rather than ship them. States that are easily accessible to us include Va., Md., NY, Oh., as well as the entire Pa. area.

Our dogs are a very important part of our lives. We spend a great deal of time exercising and socializing them. As a result they handle themselves well with people and for the most part with other dogs. Our dogs are a good working, family and protection animal.

One important thing to understand when purchasing a puppy who is small and cute, is that it will grow up to be a strong large dog. These dogs need structure and exercise as they are growing. Love is necessary but discipline and exercise must be present. You do not want a 140 lb. animal who is doing what it wants and not listening to you. These dogs are a responsibility. If you invest the time and energy as the puppy is growing up you will end up with a wonderful companion.

Diet is very important in the physical development of a puppy. When a puppy is born at our kennel mothers nursing is accompanied with a prepared liquid which is fed to each puppy individually. This nutrition  helps the body to grow to its full potential. This mixture consists of puppy starter, evaporated milk, dry dog food pulverized, dog vitamins and raw eggs. Each puppy receives a feeding of 3cc three times a day  and increases as the puppy grows. Eventually the mixture gets less pulverized and between 3 and 4 weeks the puppies are eating out of a dog dish while still nursing on the mother. We keep our puppies until they are 9 weeks old before selling them. Before puppies leave they are up to date on all their puppy shots.

We select the breeding parents on size, temperament and athletic ability to provide the best possible combination. Parents are on the premises This provides a good look at what a full grown dog will look like and behave. Visits are always welcomed.

Bob Breuer has been working with dogs since he has been a teenager. His background includes experience with German Shepherds, Pit bulls, St. Bernards as well as his current passion Mastiffs. During his lifetime he has shown St Bernard's at dog shows and has been awarded recognition for his efforts. During the years his experience in understanding the genetics of large dogs has grown. As a breeder Bob is self educated and his knowledge is based on many years of hands on time spent with dogs. Any breeding is well thought out and will produce the best possible results.

Come and see for yourself what we have to offer. We are very proud of our dogs and love to show them off.
